Energía Argentina, Tenaris to produce welded pipes for Presidente Néstor Kirchner Gas Pipeline

Energía Argentina and Tenaris signed an agreement for the supply of welded pipes for the construction of the Presidente Nestor Kirchner Gas Pipeline (GPNK) in Argentina. Tenaris’s mill in Valentín Alsina, Buenos Aires, Argentina, will start operations to supply welded pipes for the GPNK, generating investments, employment, and an impact on the value chain.

The GPNK is an infrastructure project that will expand the capacity of the natural gas transportation system to the country's large consumption centers and will continue to promote the development of gas production in Vaca Muerta, the world's second largest shale deposit.

Tenaris is the world's leading producer of seamless and welded steel pipes for the global energy industry, energy transition projects and other industrial applications. The company’s mill in Valentín Alsina manufactures welded pipes for projects that require high levels of quality and reliability.

After three years of very low activity for the 100 people at the mill in Valentin Alsina, the company is now hiring more than 300 to expand its team to support the industrial challenge. The plant will start working three shifts (24/7) to reach record levels, figures that had only been matched by the Loma La Lata project in 1986.

Tenaris is incorporating an investment plan that aims to strengthen the production capacity, generating an impact not only in the area but also all throughout the value chain.
